THERE WILL BE INDOOR CLASSIC CAR PARKING AGAIN THIS YEAR, SO BRING YOUR HOT ROD!!
We have a great show scheduled this year and look forward to seeing our fellow Mid-South auto enthusiasts. Michael Upchurch will be the master of ceremonies for the event again this year. The Rodders Reunion is the can’t-miss event of the year! We have some fantastic feature cars coming this year, and all classics (30 years and older) are invited to park indoors. It’s all about camaraderie, friendship, fellowship, and maybe a little bit of bench racing — all for a great cause! We raised $11,000 dollars last year; let’s blow that out of the water! The garage door on the west side of the building opens to classic cars parking inside at 4:00. Doors open on the south side of the building for those driving boring cars (err . . . daily drivers) at 5:30, with Leonard’s BBQ being served shortly after that. Beer and non-alcoholic drinks are available for donation to the fund. The program will start around 7:00.
There will also be a 50/50 drawing and a “Pick-A-Prize” style raffle. Simply buy tickets and drop your tickets into the bucket in front of the item you hope to get. Bring your wallet because we have some really awesome, one-of-a-kind items that (if you win) will make your friends jealous when they enter your garage! Tickets for both the 50/50 and Pick-A-Prize can be purchased onsite during the event at the raffle table:
- 10 tickets for $5
- 20 for $10
- Double-arms length for $20
This year’s honoree is Memphis Rodder Pat Collins. Louis Kimery is working on another excellent interview with Pat and those who know stories for the video portion of the event.
Who will receive the Clay Millican Hot Rodder of the Year award? You’ll have to be there to find out! Who will get the three additional awards recognizing individuals who have contributed to the Memphis-area car culture? You won’t know if you don’t come! The Nolan and Robilio Award is given to an individual dedicated to maintaining the history of rodding and racing in the Mid-South. The second award is the Eddie Wilbanks Memorial Award, going to an individual who uses fabrication, engineering, and ingenuity to build unique vehicles that advance hot rodding or racing. And new this year is the George Poteet Motorsports Award, recognizing an individual in any form of motorsports who exemplifies the spirit that George put into everything in which he competed!
Don’t forget to stick around for the “after party” as the evening concludes with the firing of engines and rollout!
