Just seven hours after getting back from vacation in Jamaica, I was on the road to Nashville, Tennessee, for two days to shoot the first C10 Nationals taking place at Nashville Super Speedway on October 1, 2. You can check out my coverage article from the event on Holley’s Motorlife blog. It was my first visit to the speedway. I was impressed with the venue as a place for an event such as the C10 Nationals, which is so much more than just a truck show. Of course, the biggest part of the event is the truck show, but it also had an extensive vendor midway, swap meet, free dyno pulls for registered participants, autocross, a track cruise on Friday night, and a burnout competition on Saturday afternoon. The track cruise was a special treat and a great opportunity to get some photos of your truck on the NASCAR track in the evening. I was able to get some great shots (and some not so great) of the trucks as they passed the start/finish line. On Friday, I concentrated on shooting trucks in the show area, while on Saturday I took some time to do some panning shots of the trucks on the autocross track. I hustled over to pit road for the burnout competition at 3:00 and got some great photos of the guys burning up some rubber. I had a great time even though I don’t own a C10. It’s really cool to see the different ways people customize their trucks to show their personalities. I left just before the awards ceremony seeing there was some bad weather in the area; it started sprinkling as I pulled out of the infield. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. Below is a gallery of photos from the event. Enjoy the photos, and remember HIGH-RESOLUTION prints can be purchased on the Shop page. Just make sure to click on the photo to maximize it and copy down the title name before you go there. (Note: There are 5 groups of photos below (Car Show, Track Cruise Pit Road, Autocross, Burnout Competition, and Track Cruise) and the photos may take a few minutes to load. Be patient, all good things come to those who wait!)
